SPENCER David Died on 13th June 2023 aged 78. Dear husband to Vivien and much loved father to Nicholas and Andrea and grandfather to Elliott. Funeral service to be held at Salisbury Cathedral on Monday, 10th July at 11:00am. We all have that one teacher we look back on with particular fondness. For me it is Mr Spencer, my music teacher and choir director at secondary school. He was the one who sparked my love of choral music and gave me one-to-one A Level music lessons because the timetable didn't work with my other subjects. He gave me incredible solo opportunities and I was lucky to sing services at many of the UK's cathedrals as part of his choir. We've been in touch on and off since I left school and he's always shown an interest in what I've been up to. He was pleased that I've managed to keep singing and that Peter and I have passed on the bug to our children.

I found out today that he had passed away. I feel both an incredible sadness and huge gratitude for the impact he has had on my life - and the lives of countless other A Cappella alumnae.

Thank you Spenny for everything. You were a hard taskmaster, but my goodness it was worth it!

May you rest in peace and rise in glory.
