CLARKE Kathleen Mary 'Mick' MBE Passed away peacefully on 29th April 2023 aged 95 years. She gave so much to so many & will be greatly missed by Michael, Bim, family & friends. Life Celebration to be held at 2pm on Tuesday May 30th 2023 at St Mary & St Nicholas Church in Wilton, all welcome. Family flowers only. To: Mick's family
I just wanted to say how very sorry I was to read of Mick's passing. I'm now 71; but I will always have many happy memories of learning to ride at Grovely in the early-mid 1960s. My favourite horse was Minstrel, who I loved dearly and who I always asked to ride if he was available. I also remember Midnight, Gypsy and Kilbride; and my friend remembers Danny, Sweep and Bluebell. You could have a half-hour lesson in the ring, or an hour's ride up into the woods. I also remember doing the Pony Club tests, learning to put the tack on, brushing the horses and the learning the right way to lift a hoof ...! I remember that Mick was always so kind and patient and clearly very much loved all the horses.
I'm sorry, I'm not able to make the Celebration of her life today, but I hope it goes well; and I'm sure there will be many people there, who, like me, treasure many happy memories of Mick.
