FESTIVAL organisers are looking for breakthrough music acts to perform at this summer’s Larmer Tree Festival.

Bands and musicians can compete for the chance to play in the same line-up as Van Morrison, Dexys and KT Tunstall and get four-day tickets to the festival.

“Festivals like ours depend on a constant supply of exciting new performers,” said Larmer Tree co-director James Shepard. “We decided to do our part in discovering and supporting up and coming artists.

The chance to play in front of a large audience alongside some well-known acts could be the big break some deserving talent’s been waiting for.”

To apply artists need to upload their track to the community page on the Larmer Tree website by 5pm on Sunday and entries will be split into acoustic and electric categories.

Six acts from each category, which can be of any genre, will be subject to a 48-hour public vote, starting on March 25.

Music lovers and Larmer Tree fans will be able to listen to all the songs and vote online for their favourite.

Three finalists in each category will then go through to a live final on April 6 at Sixty Million Postcards in Bournemouth, when a judging panel will decide the winners.
