THE garden of Mompesson House, pictured, is best enjoyed in the evening.
As property manager Karen Rudd says: “When the sun is in the west it casts long shadows across the lawn and there is a very different atmosphere from daytime”.
The National Trust owned garden is opening the garden on summer evenings in June for the first time when visitors will be able to enjoy the peace of the secluded, walled garden as well as a glass of wine or other refreshments from the tearoom.
Opening hours will be between 6pm and 8pm on Tuesday evenings until the end of the month.
❐ And if you fall in love with the garden and want to be part of the team at Mompesson House, Karen Rudd currently has vacancies for new volunteer stewards.
You can speak to her on 01722 335659 for more information.
