SUNDAY evening at Salisbury’s City Hall offers the opportunity to remember the Second World War years with Arf A Mo – We Are At War.
Using actual broadcasts of the time and with singer Rosemary Squires MBE performing her wartime favourites, the mood is sure to be set.
Piper Olivia McLennan will join the award-winning Woodfalls Band for Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral.
Pupils from Leehurst Swan School will be dressed as evacuees, and other performers include the Gurkhas’ Khukri Display Team and the Silver Bugle of the Rifle Brigade.
Show producer Ian McLennan said: “I believe the show will stir the emotions and there will be plenty of opportunity to imagine you are in the thick of it all. Sirens, bombs – even a Doodlebug.
“I think some may even take cover once or twice.”
Brian Easterbrook, pictured, of Woodfalls Band, said: “This year we have a special show in the first half followed by the very moving remembrance service – just like the Royal Albert Hall. This is a must for all ages.”
The show is in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and tickets are available from the box office on 01722 332233.
