INDIE NIGHT, OLD ALE HOUSE, SALISBURY
I always thought a lot of Paul Garry back in his days as the frontman of Willow, and natural talent does not just up and leave.
Last Friday he opened up proceedings at a busy Old Ale House in perfect fashion, with proof that one man and his guitar is all that is needed to fill a room.
Gambling Hearts then cranked things up a level with their brand of indie rock.
Plenty of attitude from the off, and well-constructed songs throughout - a very enjoyable performance.
Headliners, The Cavaliers, then took their turn to play to a now jam-packed and sweaty Ale House crowd.
Tonight's show was the launch for their new single, You're Not The Same Girl, and they could not fail to be pleased with the way it went.
They gave an assured and polished display, belting out well-rounded indie-pop from start to finish.
The guitar work was excellent, and the drums were particularly good.
The single went down a treat, but my personal favourite of the night had to be the ever infectious, Halloween, the band's previous release.
A great show, an enjoyable night for all who managed to squeeze inside, and a fresh reminder of all that is good about the Salisbury music scene.
