THE results are in - Salisbury Journal's 'Hairdresser of the Year 2021' has now been revealed.
After gaining the most votes from the public, one of the city's newest salons, Studio 15, has now received this special accolade, making it a favourite in the area for hairdressing.
Customers praised the salon on Milford Street for its cleanliness, friendliness of staff and the overall pampering experience.
After finding out her business had come out on top, 25-year-old Sophie Cormack said: "It feels really good considering it's our first real year of business, and seven months of that we were shut, so it's quite an achievement.
"When we found out we had won we couldn't believe it, we just stood around with our mouths open."
Sophie added: "I knew what I wanted in a salon and we just want to give an experience that is above and beyond."
Talking about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with Studio 15 ready to open around the start of the first lockdown, mum Linda said: "It was worrying at the start with everything, but we persevered.
"We had to run for miles to get supplies as there was nothing in Salisbury at the time, and costs were just going through the roof."
"People pulled together to help and there was such a push to help local businesses, the support from the community has been really good," Sophie added.
Despite winning this award, Sophie says the business "isn't just a hairdresser, we have so much going on".
Other services offered by Studio 15 include beauty treatments and sunbeds, and the business has recently become a retailer, stocking brands including GHDs and Phil Smith.
Sophie said: We're always getting comments about how clean it is and how welcome everyone feels, no one comes in feeling frightened.
"It's about building a relationship with customers, rather than just getting your hair done."
