THREE mums who met when their kids went to school together have now teamed up to open a new fabric business.

Rachel Louise Busby 39, Rachel Turner 35, Zahily Mckie 39, all from Salisbury Plain, have joined forces to open Manor Farm Interiors at Manor Farm, Winterbourne Stoke.

They have lovingly converted a small farm shed that used to house farm equipment into a stylish fabric showroom.

The trio have been busy putting on a new roof, recladding the building, cleaning and painting in order to get it ready for the grand opening.

The shop, which will sell a large selection of curtain and upholstery fabric on the roll, and a variety of remnants, including discontinued designer off-cuts, will open on July 18.

Zahily said: "We wanted to create a place where you can come to view a selection of fabric to get a true feel for texture, colour and pattern.

"We also supply fabric from top British brands such as Linwood, Barnaby Gates, Peony and Sage.

"We also offer the option of an in-house curtain and blind-making service.

"Alongside the fabric, we stock a vast array of handmade cushions, lampshades, lamp bases and Wovenology baskets."

The three friends met at the school gate but soon discovered they shared a passion for home decor.

Zahily said: "We went into business together because we share a passion for interior design and home decor.

"Rachel Turner has been making beautiful curtains and blinds for a long time and whilst making ours we struggled to find the right fabrics as everything nowadays is online and there aren’t many places where we could go to see and touch the fabrics, the idea came from that."

Zahily encouraged people to come and visit.

"People should visit us if they want to look and touch fabric to better visualise whatever project they have in mind," she said.

"Also if they are looking for interior one-off pieces like our beautiful handmade cushions or our hand-painted lamp bases."

Manor Farm Interiors will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am until 1pm or by appointment.
