BRIDES and bridegrooms flocked to the Guildhall in Salisbury for its first wedding fair of 2013.

With more than 30 exhibitors showcasing the services they offer such as cars, photography and bridal wear, the event saw more than 500 people come through the doors.

The Guildhall in Salisbury’s Market Place is often hired for weddings and has been used previously for wedding fairs, but this was the first one organised by in house staff.

Claire Burden, Salisbury City Council’s business manager and event manager for the wedding fair, said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere during the event and a real buzz about the building. Our exhibitors came away with some strong business leads and hopefully our visitors found the fair useful as they plan their big day.

“The team here did a fantastic job and everyone seemed to really enjoy the day.”

The next event will be on September 1 from 11am to 3.30pm. Anyone who wants to exhibit can register their interest by contacting Julia Tregellas on 01722 342860.
