SALISBURY City fell to defeat at Forest Green Rovers on Boxing Day.
Tommy Widdrington was forced to name himself on a three-man bench, with Lee Brown and Joe Oastler returning to QPR, Sean Clohessy suspended, and others injured or ill.
The Whites were allowed to register reserve team players Ben Adelsbury and Nelson Monhon, and Adelsbury started.
Isaiah Rankin put the home team in front on 29 minutes, and Matt Tubbs had a chance to level with a penalty but Terry Burton saved his effort.
Danny Webb's own goal doubled Forest Green's lead on half time, and Daniel Powell made it three on 69 minutes.
Tubbs pulled one back with a free kick with seven minutes to go.
Salisbury are at home to leaders Oxford United on Monday (3pm).
