SALISBURY City's Matt Tubbs has been forced to withdraw from the England C squad for Wednesday evening's international against Wales at Exeter because of injury.
The Whites striker was substituted on Saturday after 64 minutes of the Blue Square Premier match at home to Burton Albion with a hamstring problem.
City boss Nick Holmes said: "It's a shame he's had to pull out of the England squad. But he was struggling on Saturday - fortunately there's no tear. It's just wear and tear and down to the work load he's been doing in games."
Holmes confirmed that Tubbs and co-striker Marvin Brown, who has a similar problem, will both sit out training for at least the early part of the week as the City squad, now eighth in the table, prepare for Saturday's trip to Kidderminster Harriers.
"We'll just have to see how things pan out the rest of the week," said Holmes, who will be without one of Saturday's goalscorers Mike Fowler for this weekend's game as he serves a one-match ban after accruing five yellow cards.
Chris Hall of Stalybridge Celtic has been drafted into the England squad to replace Tubbs.
