PEOPLE can get advice about how older and vulnerable people can stay living independently for longer at a drop-in session on Tuesday.

Wiltshire Council is putting on a series of drop-in sessions around the county so people can find out about a range of new services have been put in place to support people to stay living in their homes.

The sessions are open to everyone and representatives from the council, organisations providing care and support in the home, community equipment, out of hours response service, voluntary groups and organisations specialising in providing financial advice to people needing long term care, will be there to offer advice.

John Thomson, cabinet member for adult care and communities, said: “These drop-in sessions offer an opportunity for people to learn what support is available to help them, their families and friends to help retain their independence at home, while receiving a suitable level of support if, or when they require it.”

The Salisbury session is at the City Hall from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
