THIS month marks the 25th anniversary of the world’s worst nuclear disaster and people are being asked to open their homes and their hearts to children whose lives have been affected.
The Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine on April 26, 1986, left a legacy of ill health and children are especially vulnerable to living in a contaminated environment.
Getting away from it for just a month can have huge benefits and people in the Salisbury area are being asked to act as host families for such children by the charity Chernobyl Children’s Life Line.
