SUSPECTED hare coursers used catapults to shoot out the windows of a vehicle before it ramming it several times, leaving two victims terrified.
Police are investigating the incident of criminal damage, which took place at a farm in Wilsford, near Amesbury, at around 12.20am on Sunday, November 10.
Officers believe six vehicles were involved in this incident. One of them was a silver BMW X5 and another was a Toyota Rav 4.
The force says it is aware of a video circulating on social media which will be fully investigated. The public have been asked not to share the video.
There will be an increased police presence in the area in the coming days and overnight.
Inspector Andy Lemon from Wiltshire's Rural Crime team said: "This was a terrifying incident for both victims and we are treating it extremely seriously.
"We would like to speak with anyone who may have seen or has CCTV footage of a number of 4x4 vehicles travelling through Amesbury, Wilsford and the Woodfords on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
"If you can help with our ongoing investigation, please call 101 quoting crime reference number 54240132617."
Anyone who sees hare coursing – the illegal pursuit of hares with sight hounds, also known as hare poaching – happening should call 999.
