A CAMPERVAN carrying gas canisters was destroyed in a fire causing a main road to be closed.
On-call firefighters rushed to the A338 between Fordingbridge and Ringwood at 10.30am on Sunday, August 25, following reports of a car on fire.
A campervan, which had two gas canisters on board, was destroyed and Fordingbridge residents could see smoke pluming from the road.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reels, one dry powder fire extinguisher and specialist foam to rapidly extinguished the blaze.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service left the scene and returned to station shortly after midday.
