SALISBURY won't have a main fireworks display again this year.
It is the second year in a row the event has been cancelled.
Plans for a fireworks display in the city went up in smoke despite a "superb alternative venue" being found by the Rotary Club of Wilton and Salisbury, who organised the event.
In a statement on social media, the Club said: "This year the Rotary Club of Wilton and Salisbury are unable to host a firework display.
"Unfortunately our previous locations were unavailable this year and having found a superb alternative location away from pets, we could not secure transport and ticketing facilities in time.
"We are sorry to anyone who was looking forward to attending and hope that next year we will be back.
"Our next event will be at the Wilton Christmas Lights switch on, with Santa, gifts and Mulled Wine on Friday 1st December."
In previous years, the event was enjoyed by many when it was held at the Livestock Market on Netherhampton Road.
Last year saw the display, which was due to be held at Salisbury Racecourse, cancelled due to heavy rain which caused the grass car parks to be waterlogged.
The Rotary Club say they have agreed a date for next years event at their new location.
