A CAR caught fire while the driver travelled along the A303.
Firefighters from Mere were called to the incident, which took place near West Knoyle at 11.44am on Saturday, March 18.
It took the crew one hour to put the fire out using a hose reel jet.
After the fire was out, firefighters helped the owner recover their personal belongings.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service spokesperson said: "A crew from Mere were called to a vehicle fire on the A303 near West Knoyle at 11.44am on Saturday 18 March.
"On arrival, firefighters found a car well alight.
"Two breathing apparatus wearers used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire – our stop came at 12.44pm."
