MOVIE memorabilia items seized from outside a multi-million-pound cannabis factory in a nuclear bunker are set to go to auction next month as prosecutors try to claw back some of the owner's ill-gotten gains.
The items, used as props on television series and films, were seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act after their owner, Martin Fillery, was convicted of drug offences earlier this year.
Fillery, aged 45, of Pedwell Hill, Ashcott, Bridgwater, was sentenced to eight years in prison for conspiracy to produce class B drugs, abstracting electricity and money laundering.
At his sentencing in August, the court heard that Fillery had previously run a business renting out props that had been used on filming sets.
Among items discovered by police at the Chilmark bunker were several full sized Daleks, from BBC's Doctor Who, the court heard.
Wilsons Auctions will be selling off items including Iron Man, a Stormtrooper, and several cars including Del Boy's yellow three-wheeled Reliant Regal, the 1996 Batboat and the Blues Brothers' Bluesmobile.
Following Fillery’s conviction, a financial investigation is being carried out to determine the extent of his benefit from the criminal activity, and to identify assets which may represent a lifestyle funded by crime.
The investigation is currently ongoing and a confiscation hearing is due to be held next year at a date yet to be set.
An auction of the items will be held at Wilsons Auctions, Newtownabbey, Belfast, on October 26, 2017.
Further details will be published on wilsonsauctions.com in due course.
