A CAR fire broke out on the A303 Mere bypass this morning (Thursday).
The small fire was in the engine compartment of a Vauxhall Astra.
A fire crew from Mere were called to the scene at about 10.32am and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
The crew then ensured the vehicle was safe before leaving with the owner to sort out recovery of the vehicle.
The incident was dealt with by 10.50am.
