THE Journal has today stepped up its campaign against Wiltshire Council’s plans to cut subsidised bus services across the county by launching an online petition.
Readers have been backing this paper’s campaign to STOP BUS CUTS — launched last week.
The council says so far 6,000 people have responded to a consultation on six options to slash a £5million budget — including ending all subsidies. Now the Journal has created a change.org petition for the one option not included in the council consultation — protecting all subsidised bus routes.
Passengers, bus operators and politicians from across the political spectrum have spoken out against any potential cuts.
