A BOLLYWOOD evening will be held in Downton this weekend to raise funds for three charities.
The event has been organised by local firm Pure Punjabi and will include a three-course meal, dance performances, a raffle and an auction run by the Rotary Club of Salisbury.
All proceeds from the raffle and auction will go towards the eradication of polio worldwide, and for every £100 raised, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will treble that amount.
And all money from ticket and bar sales will go to two charities – one in India and one Salisbury-based that will be nominated by attendees and drawn on the night, with all other charities nominated reserved for future occasions.
Auction items include a round of golf for four at South Wilts Golf Club and a day’s traditional cookery workshop for two.
The event is this Saturday at 7pm at Downton Memorial Hall.
Tickets are £35 per person. To book call Safia Bellamy on 07763 823699 or email purepunjabi.uk@googlemail.com.
