A NEW Wiltshire watchdog to help improve heath and social care services is launching on Thursday.

Healthwatch Wiltshire will pick up on any concerns about health and social care and if serious issues are found it has the power to look at services directly.

It will also be checking to see that health and social care is being provided well in Wiltshire and report the outcomes of its work to the public, as well as working with partners to improve the way people can find advice and information about services as and when they need them.

Chairman Chris Graves said: “It’s very exciting to be involved in this new development. I am convinced that with the support of the people of Wiltshire we will achieve a quality health and social care system in this time of great change and challenge.”

It will officially launch in the Assembly Room at Devizes Town Hall on Thursday from 12.15 until 3pm and they want members of the public to come along and tell them their experiences and ideas about health and social care.
