SEVERAL local businesses were highly commended at this year's English Hair and Beauty Awards ceremony.
Winning stylists and salons were announced at the black-tie ceremony which took place at the Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel on Sunday, April 21.
Four Salisbury-based businesses scooped prestigious regional awards.
Carla Corte owns Hair By Carla, a "small but mighty" salon in Winterbourne Dauntsey. She won 'south west Hair Salon of the Year' for the second year running.
Carla said: "It was absolutely amazing to hear that won this year for the second time round! I am very grateful to my loving and loyal clients as they are the ones who made this happen.
"My salon is small, and competing against big businesses is challenging is hard, but my determination, passion and dedication to the job I love and my commitments to hairdressing in a sustainable and greener way have been noticed by independent judges who chose me and my salon.
"We are only small but we are mighty!"
Business owners Nikki Spicer, from Vita Skin Spa, and Molly Cook, from the Hair Extension Cave, came together to celebrate their achievements.
Nikki won 'Spa of the Year', she said: “I’m so grateful to my incredible team for all their hard work, whose passion makes this possible. A huge thank you also to our clients who voted for us and for all the heartfelt reviews that play a big part in the judging process.
"It was a joy to celebrate with Molly and her team and see Salisbury so successful."
Molly added: “We are so excited to have received an award for the second year in a row and I am so thankful to our amazing team and all of our amazing clients for continuing to support everything we do."
Michelle Crosser, who runs Bridal Hair Hampshire, scooped Bridal Hair Specialist of the Year. She said: "It was such a wonderful evening, surrounded by incredibly talented people, I really didn't think I was going to win.
"I just want to thank you all again for all the support, all the beautiful reviews, all the recommendations and for being with me along the journey, it means so much."
