Funeral for Peter Lucas to be held at Salisbury Crematorium

The service for Peter Lucas, who died peacefully at home just before Christmas at the age of 73, will be held at Salisbury Crematorium at 3pm on Thursday, January 18. 

There will then be a celebration wake at The Winchester Gate pub on Rampart Road from 4pm. 

His family will welcome anyone who knew Mr Lucas in his personal life or his long music career to attend.

Born on December 16, 1950, Pete went on to play bass for a number of important bands, including proto-garage rock legends, The Troggs, with whom he toured for many decades, playing such venues as Wembley and the Royal Albert Hall. 

He was also a part of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, who formed in Salisbury in 1964 and went on to find huge fame with hits such as Hold Tight! and The Legend of Xanadu.

Pete retired during the Covid pandemic after a career spanning more than five decades.

He is survived by his wife, Cate, and his son, Luke.
